Untethered Terrain: Creating Competitive Advantage with a Flexible Mobile Infrastructure

Available on -demandRegister for Webcast
Manufacturers are seeing the emergence of what some call “the third network”, which is the wireless infrastructure. Companies that have been wired into Ethernet in the enterprise and control networks in the plant are finding out that a wireless strategy not only erases the dividing lines between operations, but also allows them to be more productive and efficient because individuals can react instantly to an event. To do that, however, requires a flexible architecture that includes any combination of cellular, RFID, and WiFi wireless protocols which provide follow-me connectivity.

From this webcast manufacturers will learn:

  • The various wireless technologies that are populating the airwaves
  • How to manage the wireless network (including telecommunication carriers)
  • Some real world examples of how a wireless network creates a more productive plant floor
