Syspro Group is re-engineering its Structured Technique to Achieve a Rapid Solution (STARS) implementation methodology to focus on business processes and how customers and value-added resellers can map those processes back to its IMPACT ERP software modules. The previous version focused on implementing the individual IMPACT software modules.
"This is where we need to be," says Joan Rood, manager of training with Syspro. "When you implement any ERP system, you're focused on the business processes. A modular approach is difficult because you have to bring the module back into the processes and [bring] pieces of each module into multiple processes."
STARS 5.1 provides templates for major processes like financials, sales and distribution, procurement manufacturing, and others. In the future, Syspro hopes to develop tools to prompt users for input and take that input directly to configure the software before it's implemented.
