| Keywords: | Secure data exchange, secure file transfer | Business process integration and supply chain software and services provider Sterling Commerce today announced availability of its Sterling Secure Proxy product for managed file transfers (MFTs). Sterling Secure Proxy works to enforce security controls as information is transferred from one company to another via the Internet, a process intended to mitigate the risk of theft, the company said.
The Sterling Secure Proxy, a component of the company’s Managed File Transfer suite, is installed on premises, but sits outside a corporate firewall to protect file transfers through security features that include firewall navigation, secure socket layer (SSL) session breaks, and multifactor authentication. In addition, the software can track the movement of files in transit for compliance and audit purposes.
“Organizations are exchanging increasing volumes of critical data with a growing number of partners, creating the need for a scalable solution that leverages their existing security infrastructure,” said Geoff Baird, vice president of Global Managed File Transfer for Sterling Commerce, in a statement.
