Solarsoft Business Systems, a mid-market ERP vendor, has acquired enterprise manufacturing intelligence software provider Informance International Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Solarsoft, which is backed by Marlin Equity Partners, touted the purchase as a way to strengthen its position in particular manufacturing sectors, specifically food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and healthcare.

Informance was the apple of another mid-market ERP vendor’s eye a year ago, but that acquisition deal, with CDC Software, was never consummated. MA reported then that CDC had agreed to purchase Informance to boost market share for the CDC Factory product line and expand CDC’s presence in the consumer packaged goods industry.

In the interim, CDC acquired Activplant, another MI company, as well as two unnamed SaaS software companies in a roll-up strategy to capitalize on the on-demand software phenomenon.
