Enterprise software vendor SoftBrands Inc. yesterday reported flat revenue from manufacturing customers in its most recent quarter, as many have begun to delay buying decisions in response to the current recession.
The company said overall revenue of $25.4 million in its fourth fiscal quarter, ended Sept. 30, were up 8.9%, led by a stronger performance in its hospitality software business. While revenue from SoftBrands’ hospitality software products and services was up 19.1% compared to the year-earlier period; however, revenue from the company’s manufacturing software products and services were essentially flat at $12.6 million.
SoftBrands’ net income fell 43% year over year, to $1.3 million.
In response, the company said it has taken steps to reduce operating expenses and is considering future cuts.
