Designed to provide real-time supply chain visibility for the military, and already in use by the U.S. Department of Defense, the light-weight, ruggedized reader system consists of a special edition of Intermec's 700 series color mobile computer with a full alphanumeric keypad, the Savi SMR-650 Mobile Reader, which reads/writes to tags using 123MHz (short-range) or 433.92 MHz (long-range), Savi SmartChain Mobile Manager software, and a docking station to upload data into information systems.
