SAP AG and CA Technologies today announced a collaborative effort aimed at enabling manufacturers to manage risk and ensure compliance across their business and IT processes.
In an extension of their reseller partnership, the two software providers will integrate their governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) product lines to bridge a divide that typically exists in enterprises between IT and enterprise GRC management. IT processes generally cover security, availability, infrastructure, and IT project management, all of which underpin core business operations, such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and hire-to-retire.
“Most organizations manage their IT GRC separately from the rest of their GRC efforts,” said Dave Hansen, general manager of Management Products and Solutions and Security customer solutions units at CA Technologies, in a statement. “This increases cost and risk to the organization. Our work with SAP helps organizations remove the silos of GRC management by incorporating continuous monitoring of IT risk and compliance metrics into the business process risk management.”
With CA’s enterprise IT management products integrated with GRC software in the SAP BusinessObjects suite, the vendors said, customers will be able to evaluate the potential impact of risk in both IT and business control terms. The marriage of the two product lines will enable users to automate and standardize GRC activities with pre-defined workflow and reporting, the companies said, and protect business value by monitoring both IT and business controls and ensuring that risks are managed to a level that is acceptable to the business.
