Progressive Manufacturing Award Winners Unveiled

A record number of nominations yields an impressive slate of progressive-minded manufacturers that have improved their businesses during trying times.

Managing Automation Media this week unveiled the winners of its annual Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards, a program that recognizes best-in-class manufacturers from around the world.

The 100 winners of the fifth-annual PM Awards competition demonstrate a passion for improving their ability to compete, even in a time of economic uncertainty, said David R. Brousell, Managing Automation editor-in-chief.

“These winning companies dramatically underscore how the manufacturing industry will not only get through this period, but also emerge in an even stronger position once a recovery takes hold,” said Brousell, who also served as a judge for the awards. “The projects that enabled these companies to become PM100 winners reflect great creativity and inventiveness, a determined willingness to take risk, and an enduring dedication to continually improve every aspect of their business. These companies are leading the way to a better future for all industry.”

The 2009 PM100 winners include many innovative small and medium-sized manufacturing companies as well as a number of well-known large enterprises, such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Chevron, Dow Chemical, General Mills, Pfizer, and Royal Dutch Shell. Winning entries this year were received from manufacturers with headquarters in the United States as well as locations around the world, including Korea, France, The Netherlands, England, and South Africa.
