Valogix LLC, a provider of inventory optimization software, has teamed up with EXTOL International, Inc., which offers B2B, application, and data integration software, to enable customers to better manage their finished goods inventories. Together, the companies’ technologies allow manufacturers to collect key inventory data wherever it resides in the supply chain and integrate it with their ERP or CRM systems.
At the heart of the co-marketing and technology exchange agreement are EXTOL’s rapid integration tool and B2B EDI services and Valogix’s latest product, the VALOGIX Inventory Planner Enterprise Edition (v8), introduced in late May, according to Joe Carroll, director of channel enablement and business development at Valogix. Both companies have designed their products around open source and Java J2EE technologies, a new direction for Valogix.
“The rapid integration technology allows our customers to quickly and easily tie into legacy systems or data sources for inventory management,” Carroll said in an interview with Managing Automation. “This gives them a complete network-wide view of their inventory throughout their supply chain that they manage for replenishment planning and execution.”
EXTOL’s platform-independent Business Integrator application provides EDI, Applicability Statement 2 (AS2), XML, web services, spreadsheet, and other integrations with back-end applications and data. EXTOL says on its website that the application enables the automation and integration of multi-step business processes, such as order-to-cash, inventory replenishment, or provisioning, as well as the extraction, transformation, and transport of data from internal databases and files to reporting applications or external partners.
