In a bid to beef up its ability to support environmental regulatory compliance, product lifecycle management software vendor PTC today said it has acquired Synapsis Technology Inc.
The deal gives PTC a set of tools designed to help manufacturers comply with a growing list of environmental regulations, such as the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
The companies did not reveal the terms of the deal that will bring the business assets of Synapsis, a 9-year-old, 25-person software company located in Spring House, PA, into the PTC fold.
Synapsis focuses on high tech, medical devices, and automotive industries. Customers include Delphi, GE, Harley-Davidson, Cisco, and Motorola.
