New Offering for Emissions Tracking Hits the Cloud

Enviance says its new greenhouse gas FastTrack Program can help manufacturers monitor their compliance with EPA regulations.

Enviance, Inc., a provider of environmental and regulatory reporting products, today unveiled its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) FastTrack program, a cloud-based framework that can collect data on an industrial manufacturer’s emissions, provide an audit trail, and run reports pertinent to industry mandates, the company said. FastTrack’s debut follows the announcement in January of new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) GHG reporting rules, which will require industrial facilities to file annual emissions reports, the first of which is due on March 31, 2011.

GHG FastTrack is a turnkey offering that enables an organization to report on air emissions within 60 days of implementation, according to Enviance. The first step for users of the SaaS offering is to walk through a wizard-based tool with drop-down menus featuring basic questions, such as how many facilities the company has and the type of greenhouse gases they emit, etc. The questionnaire takes a few hours to complete and is sent back to Enviance, which then tailors a solution to the organization.

The end result is an executive-level dashboard that displays the manufacturer’s greenhouse gas information. Enviance services include web-based training to teach end users how to create dashboards and report on data required by the EPA. In addition, the system includes a centralized database that consolidates and stores GHG data; standard reports; a calculator to derive GHG emissions; and benchmarking tools.

“The FastTrack program enables organizations to quickly and effectively install a solution that enables them to measure, track, and report greenhouse gas emissions,” said Enviance Vice President of Sales Nigel Nugent in an interview. He said there are numerous offerings on the market for environmental compliance, but he characterized them as complex, mostly on-premise applications.
