IFS has introduced the seventh version of its application suite, adding capabilities for what the company called "project-driven" enterprises, vertical markets and to increase user productivity.
Announced at IFS's World Congress 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden, were new capabilities in application design, graphical user interaction and information visualization. Also new to IFS Application 7 were support for contract lifecycle management, project-driven manufacturing, and project supply chain management.
For vertical markets, IFS says the version of the suite would provide workforce planning and call center management within the service and facilities management industry.
A product under development, which IFS calls Attila, with enable direct access to IFS software from within Microsoft Office. IFS says an initial release of the product, which will include reporting, budgeting and financial planning modules integrated in Excel, will be available to selected customers in the second quarter of 2006.
