NetSuite Inc. pulled the trigger this week on a campaign to entice Sage Software customers to its on-demand ERP products, capitalizing on problems that arose earlier this year during beta testing of the Sage Live accounting applications.
Among the incentives in the NetSuite Sage Switch program are a guarantee of at least 50% off customers’ first-year subscription costs when they switch to one or more NetSuite on-demand applications, and 100 hours of free professional services that can be applied to NetSuite’s shared implementation offering. The offer is good through June 30, 2009.
In its announcement, NetSuite pushed its on-demand business management system as an alternative to Sage Live, citing reports of security flaws that surfaced in Sage’s online offering.
The Sage Live suite of accounting and invoicing applications is based on Web 2.0 technology and integrates with Google Docs. It will use a mobile interface for access from PDAs and will link to PayPal and Sage’s own online payments processing system.
