Citing a desire to eradicate confusion over its name and its many products, as well as a need to reflect an expanded company structure, ERP and CRM provider M2M Holdings last month changed its name to Consona Corp.

The company has had a large appetite for acquisitions over the past three years, swallowing nine ERP and CRM companies along the way. Many of those vendors specialized in enterprise software products for specific manufacturing verticals. And yet, Consona has eschewed the consolidation strategy of larger enterprise software vendors such as SAP and Oracle, choosing instead to continue marketing distinct product lines for manufacturers in industries such as metals and wire and cable, plastics processing, printed circuit boards, and numerous others.

Those products lines will now be disbursed across three brands: Consona ERP, Consona CRM, and Consona Industry Solutions.
