Lawson Software (St. Paul, MN) has joined the board of directors of the non-profit organization Open Applications Group Inc. (OAGi). OAGi oversees the OAGIS (Open Applications Group Integration Specification) XML business language standard, which enables interoperability among disparate business applications across and beyond the enterprise and throughout the supply chain. OAGi members include software, manufacturing, and telecom companies and a variety of industry organizations. Lawson's position as an OAGi board member gives the enterprise applications vendor organizational voting rights, the opportunity to sit on standards development advisory boards, and the right to initiate, sponsor, and lead ongoing and future OAGi projects. Lawson also is an active member of the HR-XML Consortium, which develops and promotes programming standards for human resources-related data exchanges.
