Continuing a trend of vendors offering software applications that work with mobile devices, Kaba Workforce Solutions has announced a workforce management application intended for use with common mobile devices, such as cell phones, Blackberries, and PDAs.
B-Net mobile HR, a time and attendance tracking application, can interface with Kaba's stationary time-recording terminals and is compatible with new or existing time-recording systems, the company said. With B-Net mobile HR, time records can be recorded in real time, via a mobile device, and synched with a company's central database after transmission of the data via the mobile network. The new application is particularly useful for companies with field employees, including salespeople and service technicians, Kaba said. In addition to electronically recording the start and end times of business-related activities, users of B-Net mobile HR can access HR-related information, such as sick time, flex time, and vacation days.
A sister application, B-Net mobile AC, can be used for access control to facilities. From the same mobile device used with the HR application, a worker can either input a PIN number or use a reader and bar-code scanner to gain access to a secure facility.
