John Galt Solutions, a provider of consumer-driven supply chain management software, this week added new features to two modules in its Atlas demand planning and inventory management software suite for mid-market manufacturers.

The new capabilities in the Demand Management engine and the Sales Planning Portal of Atlas Planning v6 are said to enable improved event profitability and lifecycle forecasting. The Demand Management engine incorporates product lifecycles, events, sales trends, and seasonality for more accurate forecasting and sales and operations planning (S&OP), according to the company.

The v6 release adds a new user interface with a quick access toolbar that supports demand-planning tasks, such as:

  • Comprehensive lifecycle forecasting to manage relationships between new and existing product lines.
  • An event index to make it easier to incorporate events and promotions in the forecasting process.
  • New options for evaluating event profitability.
  • Easier data conversion with scenario data transfer.
