Invensys Operations Management today released a new version of its integrated application framework, said to provide enhanced visualization and data management capabilities.
Wonderware System Platform 4.0 delivers tiered historian capabilities designed to greatly simplify data time stamping, information aggregation, and retrieval and reporting. In addition, the latest iteration features web visualization improvements that enable plant operators to more effectively manage and control equipment and processes, the company said.
The Wonderware System Platform, first introduced in 2006, is an architectural framework that bundles Wonderware HMI, SCADA, MES, and manufacturing intelligence applications under one system license. It is built on the company’s ArchestrA integration technology, which leverages industry standards to connect to any programmable logic controller (PLC) or distributed control system (DCS). Since introducing the technology, Invensys has continued to create synergies between existing products in order to deliver sophisticated, yet simple to use tools, the company said.
For example, in version 4.0, the Wonderware Historian, a core component of the System Platform, now can report different levels of information in the historian database.
