Seeking to help mid-sized manufacturers take cost and time out of order fulfillment processes, Infor today released a new shipping and logistics software module that is integrated with its ERP SyteLine enterprise application platform.
The SyteLine Shipping and Logistics package is based on a shipping, logistics, and mobility application from Infor partner Pacejet Logistics Inc. Several organizations use the Pacejet application in conjunction with ERP SyteLine, said Infor Director of Discrete Manufacturing Solutions Kevin Prouty in an interview today with Managing Automation.
The SyteLine Shipping and Logistics module allows manufacturers to automate picking, packing, and shipping processes. The system, for example, includes optimization logic that lets manufacturers consider carrier costs and customer-service levels when deciding on order fulfillment transportation options.
Like SyteLine, the new Shipping and Logistics module is based on Microsoft’s .NET middleware. This allows the Shipping and Logistics module to be tightly integrated with SyteLine, and enables users to modify the module using Microsoft development tools. Most users, however, are likely to deploy the module using out-of-the-box configuration options.
