ERP provider IQMS yesterday released an EnterpriseIQ application that gives BlackBerry smart phone users access to enterprise data.

The manufacturing software company, which already offers a Microsoft-based EnterpriseIQ smart phone application affording users CRM access, joins a growing roster of ERP and other vendors tapping into the enterprise mobility zeitgeist, typified by the ever-popular BlackBerry. Companies that have recently released technology that bridges enterprise applications and mobile devices include Sybase, SAP, and Motorola.

“IQMS prides itself on customer satisfaction, which is why we developed a BlackBerry application for our customers and employees who need to access the ERP system on the go or who don’t have immediate access to a laptop of PC,” said Glenn Nowak, vice president at IQMS, in a statement announcing the application.

The EnterpriseIQ BlackBerry app enables untethered users to view areas such as CRM, workflow, inventory, customer pricing, sales orders, capable to promise, and shop floor production information. Read/write capability is available in some areas, such as CRM, sales, and workflow, while information in other sections, such as shop floor production, is read-only, according to IQMS Director of Marketing Daniele Fresca.
