Swedish enterprise applications vendor IFS today released its Enterprise Explorer user interface — formerly called Aurora — for general availability, CEO Alastair Sorbie told Managing Automation.

IFS Enterprise Explorer (IEE) marks IFS’ bid to make ERP systems easier to use and more Internet-enabled. It incorporates .NET and SOA technology, and is part of a trend among ERP vendors toward more user-friendliness.

The company introduced IEE as Aurora in October 2007, and has provided it to beta users, including Nebraska-based international silo and grain elevator maker Chief Industries.

But it hits the general market over half a year late.
