ERP provider IFS on Thursday announced the acquisition of 360 Scheduling, a maker of mobile workforce scheduling software that will bring real-time optimization to the ERP vendor’s service and maintenance solutions.

This week’s acquisition — a cash deal for an undisclosed sum — is the latest move by IFS to grow its product portfolio, which includes resource scheduling and optimization, spare parts management, mobile solutions for field workers, and call and case management, all integrated with core ERP functionality such as financials, procurement, manufacturing, and HR.

360 Scheduling is the third acquisition by IFS in three years, but the first one that covers mobile workforce and service management, the company said.

Managing a mobile workforce is becoming increasingly important, said IFS officials, who said they wanted to update the company’s existing scheduling capabilities with real-time functionality.
