(San Jose, CA) and Hewlett-Packard (Palo Alto, CA) have announced they will provide complete RFID packages to enterprise customers endeavoring to streamline supply chain operations. Leveraging the combination of HP's global reach and service and support capabilities and BEA's enterprise infrastructure software products, the companies say they will provide an end-to-end software solution starting with RFID readers at the network edge and continuing through to the heart of the enterprise, plus a full service infrastructure. The announcement focused on four specific areas: retail operations and asset management, with the goal of improving supply chain operations; RFID compliance and tagging for CPG companies; tracking for re-usable assets such as cages, containers, and racks (retail, CPG, manufacturing, and aerospace); and a safe and secure supply chain to track the flow of goods specifically for RFID regulatory compliance-focused industries such as pharmaceuticals.
