Supply chain execution and optimization software provider RedPrairie this week announced availability of version 2009.1 of its Fleet Management product, featuring functionality that supports long-haul planning and network-level optimization.

The Fleet Management product includes configurable dashboards, asset and driver management capabilities, and consolidation facility and hub support, all tailored to transportation managers who oversee fleet-specific operations, RedPrairie said.

“Managing the nuances of a large and complex delivery network and the associated assets and drivers can be a challenging task,” said Tom Kozenski, RedPrairie vice president of product strategy, in a statement announcing the new version. “In the past, transportation managers were often limited to planning same-day deliveries out of a single depot, with little or no integration to [a] core system.”

The fleet management product, by contrast, integrates with RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management software as well as its core Transportation Management system. With the integrated system, users can perform complete network planning and manage both long-haul moves between hubs and same-day delivery through a single facility, the company said. Alternatively, Fleet Management 2009.1 can run as a stand-alone system.
