LAS VEGAS — Attempting to differentiate itself from its ERP software competitors, Epicor Software Corp. today introduced a service under which it will share with its customers the risks and rewards involved in implementing ERP on time and on budget.
Unveiled to some 1,000 customers at Epicor’s annual Perspectives conference here, the Shared Benefits program attempts to provide additional incentives for Epicor, its customers, and its reseller partners to implement Epicor ERP projects within the time frames and budgets specified, said the company’s chief marketing officer, John Hiraoka.
“Our focus is on delivering the greatest value in our solution,” Hiraoka said in a keynote presentation.
Epicor said it would continue to commit to a specific implementation time frame and cost, typical under today’s time-and-materials implementation agreements. But, under the Shared Benefits Program, if an implementation project is completed early and under budget, Epicor and its customer would share the savings 50-50. If a project goes over time and budget, Epicor would provide a 50% discount on the consulting services needed in excess of those originally contracted for.
