Enterprise applications vendor Consona this week rolled out Intuitive ERP 8.5, the latest version of its manufacturing software for small and mid-sized companies.
Consona has built its product arsenal of ERP and CRM offerings by acquiring companies such as Intuitive, which brought a .NET software foundation to the portfolio. The latest version, Consona said in a statement, extends that .NET platform, which undergirds a Microsoft Windows interface familiar to many enterprise software users. The 8.5 iteration includes new capabilities to help a manufacturer manage physical inventory and operations related to purchased item costing.
Among the add-on modules available to 8.5 customers are the Intuitive Form Wizard, which allows manufacturers more flexibility in creating customized data entry forms in the ERP system, and Shop Floor Manager v1.3, which, among other capabilities, delivers greater visibility into material shortages, the company said.
The acquisition of Intuitive dates back to 2006, when Consona was known as Made2Manage. The buyout was the latest in a series of roll-up acquisitions that extended the enterprise applications vendor into various micro-verticals within manufacturing. More recently, Consona announced last month that it would acquire Compiere, a purveyor of open source, cloud computing-based ERP. At the time, the company told Managing Automation that its long-term plans involved migrating ERP and CRM products, such as Intuitive, to a cloud-based platform.
