Seeking to support manufacturers that want to take a more structured approach to product and operational risk management, but may not have the money or organizational consensus to invest in a full, enterprise-class application, Dyadem International Ltd. this week rolled out a scaled-down version of its risk management suite for small workgroups.

The company’s new product, Stature Workgroup, includes the core elements of its more expensive Stature Professional and Stature Enterprise suites, but carries a set price tag of $20,000, plus a $5,000 annual maintenance charge. A license for Dyadem’s Stature Professional averages $60,000, depending on the number of users and modules involved. And Dyadem’s top-of-the-line Stature Enterprise product carries an average license charge of about $150,000, said Kevin North, the company’s president and CEO, in an interview with Managing Automation.

The new Stature Workgroup product is limited to small teams of 10 named or three concurrent users.

Stature Workgroup is targeted at small workgroups inside small or large organizations, North said. “There are many small teams that might be rigorous about risk management, but can’t pitch a solution to the broad enterprise,” North said. “We wanted a product at a price point that engineering teams could put in place without having to go through the whole corporate approval ordeal.”

Stature Workgroup includes the Stature platform and the core risk management modules that are part of Stature Professional and Stature Enterprise. The Stature platform includes Web services-based workflow and integration, reporting engines, data synchronization, and graphical user interface. The core functionality in Stature Workgroup lets engineering teams create, share, and access risk assessments over the Web. Stature Workgroup also supports executive dashboards, active libraries, and the ability to analyze risk assessment reports compiled at different times.

Users of the new Stature Workgroup, however, will not be able to take advantage of some of the enterprise-class functionality supported in Dyadem’s more expensive products. Users, for example, can assign tasks to individuals, but can’t track compliance, nor does the product include automated management of change requests.

Users of Dyadem’s desktop products, which tend to address specific risk analysis tasks such as process hazard analysis, can upgrade to Stature Workgroup, migrating existing templates to the new platform.

Dyadem will market Stature Workgroup to the same manufacturing verticals as its Professional and Enterprise products: oil & gas, chemical, mining, pharmaceutical, medical, automotive, electronics, and aerospace & defense.
