Aspen Technology Inc., of Cambridge, MA, and the Dow Chemical Co., have signed a corporate-wide agreement to license AspenTech's InfoPlus.21 process information management software to Dow sites worldwide. Dow intends to use InfoPlus.21 for most new IM installations and to migrate some existing IM systems long-term.
The agreement, which covers both AspenTech software licenses and services, allows for the integration of InfoPlus.21 with Aspen Tech's advanced control, optimization, and process modeling software already used exclusively with Dow's process controls systems.
Dow will use InfoPlus.21, a process historian, monitoring system and real-time application platform for Microsoft Windows NT, with Aspen Process Explorer, a companion package that gives engineers access to detailed process information from Windows 95 and NT PCs.
