| The Descartes Systems Group Inc. (Waterloo, Ontario) has come up with a cohesive plan for fleet management in what officials are calling the most significant upgrade to its architecture in two years. Key functions added to its SOA-based logistics network operating system (LNOS) on-demand delivery management architecture include measurement, visibility and global rate tools -- with more functional enhancements scheduled for release before the end of the year. Created two years ago, LNOS is designed to unify products Descartes acquired over the years, providing a clear view into the somewhat blurry practice of fleet management. Through two key acquisitions -- Roadshow and Fleetwise -- the company added routing and scheduling and transportation management into its product portfolio. [Click to continue]  |
