TIBCO Software yesterday reported a mixed bag of results for the fiscal fourth quarter, revealing flat revenue and a 17% jump in income.
The application infrastructure provider reported $185.5 million in revenue for the quarter ended Nov. 30, compared with $186.1 million in the year-earlier period. Net income reached $32.3 million, up from $27.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2007.
License revenue in the quarter fell 9% to $90.4 million, compared with $99.6 million a year earlier.
“There were a handful of deals that slipped which we’re confident of closing in the next two quarters,” said Murray Rode, TIBCO’s CFO on a conference call with financial analysts yesterday. “In some cases, these were larger deals that fell out of the pipeline … but nothing particularly atypical for a Q4, really.”
