In a move that strengthens its ability to deliver turnkey digital manufacturing solutions, PLM and CAD provider Dassault Systèmes today announced a global reseller agreement with MES vendor Intercim LLC.

The latest news is an expansion of a partnership that began in 2004 when the two teamed up to integrate Dassault’s DELMIA digital manufacturing and production software with Intercim’s Pertinence MES system. The partnership took deeper root last year when Dassault made a minority investment in Intercim, strengthening the duo’s technology roadmap to build solutions for the aerospace and defense, shipbuilding, energy, and life sciences industries.

The reseller agreement takes the partnership to a new level, Dassault officials said, providing a one-stop shop for customers.

“We’ve been working on a few customer engagements, and, in some cases, the customers wanted to order from one vendor,” said Patrick Michel, vice president of DELMIA solutions and marketing, in an interview with Managing Automation. According to Michel, while the partnership has yet to produce any customer wins for the DELMIA-Pertinence solution, a few common customers are getting ready to license the technology, which is the reason for the timing of the reseller agreement, he said.
