Continuing its growth-by-acquisition strategy, Consona ERP Inc. has purchased the Intuitive ERP-related assets of Automated Design Systems, a Canadian reseller of CAD and ERP software and services.

ADS developed primarily sales force automation and field service add-ons to the Intuitive ERP software line. Consona’s Intuitive ERP software is aimed at mid-sized discrete manufacturers, in industries such as electronics, fabricated metals, industrial machinery, according to Consona’s Web site.

In addition to the intellectual property related to the Intuitive product line, Consona gains the expertise of roughly 15 employees of its former development partner.

“This is an opportunity for us to get control of that IP and to sync up future releases,” said Scott Malia, general manager of Consona ERP, in an interview with Managing Automation today. “It is also an opportunity for us to work directly with customers in Canada.” ADS had sold 75 Intuitive ERP systems in Canada, he said.
