CDC Pads Out CRM with Partnership

The ERP apps provider links up with Marketbright in a reseller agreement for marketing automation software.

ERP provider CDC Software announced today that it would add new marketing automation software to its Pivotal CRM offering via a new reseller alliance.

The mid-market enterprise software provider has struck up a partnership with Marketbright, a SaaS vendor of marketing automation tools, to resell Marketbright’s software as a complement to the Pivotal suite. CDC also made an unspecified investment to become a minority backer of its new partner, a private company begun in 2005 and funded by venture firms Greycroft Partners and Knight’s Bridge Capital Partners.

Marketbright’s technology includes tools for marketing campaign management and analytics, e-mail marketing, lead scoring, social networking, prospect list management, web page creation, and related activities. A CDC spokeswoman told Managing Automation that CDC wanted a pure SaaS alternative to its MarketFirst marketing automation software, and believes that Marketbright can “help us generate more SaaS recurring revenue.”

Under the agreement, which is pending legal review and finalized terms, “CDC Software is expected to serve as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), reseller, or referral partner for Marketbright’s SaaS marketing automation solutions” worldwide, CDC said in a statement. “In turn, Marketbright is expected to serve as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), reseller, or referral partner for CDC Pivotal CRM solutions in the U.S. and Canada.”
