Companies using software from Acacia Technologies and MK Group-two of the five business units now part of Computer Associates International's new interBiz Solutions division-need not worry that CA will abandon the products from the defunct entities. According to Gary Leighton, vice president of marketing at interBiz Solutions, the new division will continue to support and develop the products from all of its former independent application business units.  "The [companies] that selected these products did so for a specific reason," Leighton says. "We will not presuppose that we could somehow consolidate the products...into a superset that somehow meets all of our users' needs."  The products are, however, being linked into the new interBiz framework, which borrows from CA's Unicenter technology, and they will provide high-level features to all the underlying applications, explains Leighton. The new architecture may affect licensing, but details have not been made final.-Erin Callaway
