Two business intelligence software providers revealed updates to their products today, hoping to answer the needs of manufacturers and other enterprises looking to glean valuable information from the data that tracks their operations.
Oco, which offers businesses data integration and warehousing technology bundled with business analytics, announced Oco SaaS BI 4.0, which it termed a “major upgrade” to its flagship product. The company said it has parlayed its partnership with SAP into better enterprise systems integration in the new release, and also touted the 4.0 version’s ability to provide business intelligence on a global scale.
The software-as-a-service offering underwent a number of enhancements aimed at creating more seamless usability, the company said in a statement, including 24x7 availability with “no interruptions for system administration, data loading,” and other system tasks. The release also alerts users if a report they are viewing has been updated, a key feature for companies that have dispersed workforces across the globe, Oco said.
Oco bases its analytics technology on best-practice templates for reporting and analysis in its core industries of manufacturing, food and consumer goods, and business services. Operational areas of focus include supply chain management, for inventory, transportation, and procurement; customer management; and service delivery performance analysis. Out of the box, Oco’s templates provide, on average, 90% of the BI functionality an end user needs, according to the company, with the remainder tailored to the customer’s specific needs via configuration.
