As part of a strategic move into the business-to-business (B2B) arena, BroadVision Inc. recently partnered with supply chain planning software provider Adexa Inc. to create B2B trading exchanges to support collaborative planning for direct materials procurement. BroadVision introduced its first B2B solution about one year ago, according to Pamela Dunn, BroadVision's senior product marketing manager, procurement. Today some 50 of BroadVision's 150 B2B customers are building Web trading exchanges. About 20 of those exchanges are live, Dunn notes. "We believe that BroadVision dominates the sell-side of the business. The question becomes, what about all this other stuff? We knew we had the sell-side wired but it was all about enabling the entire supply chain."
