Aspen Technology Inc., a leading provider of optimization and supply chain software for process manufacturers, has purchased Petrolsoft Corp. for about $59.6 million in stock.
Following the Petrolsoft purchase, AspenTech can offer a complete optimization and automation package for petroleum makers.
Privately held Petrolsoft last year posted a 20% operating margin on the $4 million in revenue it generated selling Web-enabled supply chain software to petroleum makers.
