Recognizing that sustainability practices are driving business policies, wireless sensor supplier Arch Rock Corp. is getting ready to unveil a power monitoring system that will deliver actionable information on energy usage within industrial facilities.

On Monday, April 13, Arch Rock will announce its Energy Optimizer, a hardware and software solution that, using Internet standards, can integrate with existing building and automation systems, as well as a variety of wireless networks.

Energy Optimizer couples the company’s existing PhyNet Router and IPpower Nodes with its new Energy Visibility Portal, a Web-based application that displays detailed energy usage information in graphical and tabular formats.

Unlike typical building management electric sub-metering systems that simply consolidate energy usage for billing purposes, Arch Rock adds a layer of visualization and analysis that can pinpoint where the energy went, when it was used, and what it produced. Such information can help companies verify energy spending, avoid penalty-incurring peak-time usage, and demonstrate usage reduction to comply with regulatory mandates, such as the EPAct 2005, the company said.
