    Ultra-compact optical character recognition module designed for OEM integration into portable devices

    Reading, UK, June 23, 2008 - Access IS, the data input technology company, has introduced the world''s smallest optical character recognition module. Designed for OEM integration into portable devices in which low power consumption is critical, the OCR130 measures 36.3 x 22.7 x 18.5mm and operates from a 3VDC power supply. The operating current is 130mA and this drops substantially when the reader is in rest mode, extending the battery life of portable equipment. Applications include security checks at airport boarding gates, accelerating airport check-in and police identification checking.
