Zebra Technologies Corp. (Vernon Hills, IL) recently announced that its Ultracode and Color Ultracode symbologies have been accepted by the Automatic Identification Manufacturers (AIM USA) as the framework for an industry standard to serve the U.S. market. These symbologies are able to encode Latin alphabet languages plus Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
"Ultracode's universal language ability and flexibility for printing and scanning give it the potential to expand the industry by introducing bar coding to new markets," says Tim Eusterman, director of marketing for Zebra.
