VANCOUVER, Oct. 7 -- Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR)(NASDAQ:- TSX:)(NASDAQ:SW) today announced the introduction of the MC8795V, the newest product in the Company''s expanding line of embedded modules.

Designed for HSPA networks, the MC8795V offers quad-band (850, 900, 1900, and 2100 MHz) frequency band support, enabling customers to expand their product offering into new geographical markets. The MC8795V also features best-in-class data speeds with up to 7.2 Mbps on the downlink and 5.76 Mbps on the uplink. In addition, antenna diversity improves fringe performance on global HSPA networks.

The MC8795V module easily integrates into a variety of OEM devices, such as wireless terminals, point-of-sale devices, computers and ruggedized laptops. It is also GPS capable, making it well suited for location-based applications. Its voice capabilities makes it ideal for fixed wireless terminals and portable handheld devices that require the ability to make voice calls. It supports simultaneous voice and data usage.

The MC8795V is 100% compatible with the existing tri-band MC8790V and MC8792V embedded modules, providing a seamless upgrade path. Extensive software, applications and tools, installation and activation wizards, and essential hardware drivers simplify the certification and commercialization process. The module is compliant with the European Union''s RoHS (Restrictions on Hazardous Substances) directive.
