ISA Expo 2008, scheduled for Oct. 14-16 in Houston, will feature enterprise integration as one of six technology exchanges, in which technical conference sessions and briefings by industry experts will be presented to attendees. Best practices in asset management, ISA-95 enterprise-control systems integration standards, and ISA-88 batch control standards will be discussed, as well as topics such as choosing a systems integrator, data and documentation, and project management.
Peer-reviewed technical conference session topics will include integrating in a global marketplace. Global experts Andre Michel of Amgen and Kevin Wilhelm of Eli Lilly and Co. will present a paper on Oct. 14 detailing the benefits and hazards of designing and building on one continent, shipping internationally, and re-creating projects in multiple locations around the world.
On Oct. 15, John Rinaldi of Real Time Automation will give a presentation titled, "Dealing with IT," in which he will explore the perils and pitfalls of working with enterprise IT from a plant floor perspective.
