Kepware Technologies has developed an interface driver for its KEPServerEX device communications server that gives developers an easy way to integrate applications. The patent-pending Custom Interface Driver (CID) is not a toolkit, but rather a shared memory interface with an XML Definition File that enables KEP-ServerEX to perform auto-configuration of tags and operations required for application interoperability. The CID sends data directly to KEPServerEX, which treats this information like any other data it delivers through its wide range of client interfaces, including certified standards, such as OPC, and native interfaces from Oracle, Wonderware, GE Intelligent Platforms, and others. These client interfaces can now be leveraged by any developer. CID is available as plug-in device driver to KEPServerEX 5.1. Kepware will also create a CID Solution Directory to market CID-compliant products to users, systems integrators, and OEMs.
