by Beth Stackpole, Contributing Editor   EDS PLM Solutions has rolled out a 2003 road map for a series of new product lifecycle management (PLM) products to be focused on specific business processes as well as on particular vertical industry domains--all of which will be built on its Teamcenter foundation. The new modular series is being touted by EDS PLM Solutions as providing customers with a "fast to value" approach for implementing PLM. "We're bringing together our consulting expertise and best practices in targeted solutions to assure clients a rapid return on their PLM investment," said Tony Affuso, president of EDS PLM Solutions, in a prepared statement. The new business process initiatives address the needs of five key corporate functions: product and portfolio planning; product development; digital manufacturing; in-service support; and creating a collaboration platform for total lifecycle knowledge management.
