Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, recently announced new versions of its manufacturing operations and intelligence applications that leverage technology the company gained through last year's acquisition of Cimnet, a purveyor of manufacturing execution system (MES) software.
The enhanced software solutions include Wonderware Operations Software 3.4 and Wonderware Performance Software 3.4. The new MES and enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) applications offer integration with Wonderware's System Platform and InTouch HMI software, which provide a common industrial application services platform on top of virtually any existing system.
The applications are built on Wonderware's industry-standards based ArchestrA real-time services-oriented architecture (SOA) technology. The new integration provides a comprehensive MES, EMI, HMI (human-machine interface), and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) solution using a single, unified software platform.
