Abstract:The purveyor of the TrackWise quality management application selects a software industry veteran to shepherd new growth for the company.

Software vendor Sparta Systems, the company behind the TrackWise quality management application, has named a new president and CEO.

Assuming the post vacated by Ran Flam, who will retain his role as chairman of the board, James McGowan arrives at Sparta after stints in the corner office at EIS Software Inc. and Infinium Software Inc., as well as 18 years in various roles at IBM.

All indications are that McGowan will preside over a period of expansion at Sparta. According to the statement announcing his appointment, "McGowan has an established track record of developing and executing corporate business strategies and in growing and expanding companies in their respective markets."
