Royal Dutch Shell’s Downstream Manufacturing division has decided to implement Invensys Operations Management’s IntelaTrac mobile workforce management hardware and software at 29 of its global manufacturing facilities.

Shell said the IntelaTrac product will be used as part of its Ensure Safe Production (ESP) program. Shell operators, field engineers, and supervisors will use the system to manage equipment surveillance and regulatory compliance tasks. Using IntelaTrac workforce management software running on mobile devices, operators can be made aware of potential equipment issues in real time, allowing them to take quick corrective action, Shell said.

Invensys added the IntelaTrac workforce management application and decision support tools to its product set with its acquisition last year of SAT Corp.

The IntelaTrac software can be operated using smartphones, PDAs, rugged handheld computers, laptops, and PCs to enhance the productivity of mobile workers.
