DemandTec, a purveyor of supply chain management (SCM) software for consumer goods companies and retailers, today announced the latest release of its SaaS-based suite, touting improved customer insight and price management capabilities, among other upgrades.
The company’s SCM product suite is slated as a merchandizing and marketing management system. The new release includes an expanded library of dashboards with which CPG companies or retailers can monitor shoppers’ buying habits. The dashboards can now be associated with key business questions, according to DemandTec.
With an eye toward improving its customers’ promotion planning and management activities, the company added a new module, called Display Planning, that it said enables “more precise and localized planning of promotional display space to support shopper-centric promotion strategies.” That functionality is not immediately available to the general DemandTec audience, but will be added to the SaaS product in time, a spokesman said.
Additional enhancements include expanded business intelligence capabilities for post-event analysis, said to deliver better insight into promotional activity and brand loyalty; and price optimization tools to afford retailers more speed in adjusting prices.
