A global RFID consultant and systems integrator has taken a dose of its own medicine in outfitting its new headquarters facility with RFID technology that will help the company track high-value assets.

ODIN technologies, which specializes in RFID deployments in the aerospace, financial services, government, healthcare, and oil & gas sectors, chose Intermec hardware and InSync software to equip its new Ashburn, VA, headquarters.

Intermec’s IF61 fixed readers will communicate with RFID tags attached to ODIN’s assets (the company did not detail the assets being tracked), while InSync software will give employees a visual fix on those assets by displaying their locations on floor plans of the headquarters location.

ODIN’s CEO Patrick Sweeney II described the installation as part of a laboratory “custom-designed for global RFID solutions.”
