Pricing Software Gets Upgrade From PROS

Setting the right price for products can bolster a manufacturer’s bottom line, and new price management software from PROS aims to make that process faster and more accessible to sales teams and other users.

Price management software provider PROS this week delivered an updated version of its business-to-business pricing software, which the company said features improved capabilities for competitive pricing analysis and better integration with customer management tools.

In the 3.17 version of the PROS Pricing Solution Suite, pricing analysts, sales personnel, and other users can more quickly implement pricing changes in the system, an upgrade that PROS said came in response to customers’ desire to conduct price management at the “speed of business.”

The software also gives manufacturers and other B2B-focused companies what PROS, in a statement, called “the capability…to predict and anticipate competitor pricing moves.” A PROS spokeswoman said that by “identifying the competitors in a given market that really evoke competition, and predicting the magnitude of their price moves, PROS customers can intelligently react to these [and] move to guard market share.”

In recognition of the popularity of the Salesforce.com customer management software, the PROS Pricing Solution Suite now lets users generate faster quotes for specific customer accounts in the Salesforce.com system. A salesperson, for instance, can access a price quote in Salesforce.com and then, through a series of clicks, generate a new quote optimized by the PROS system.
